Installation of underfloor heating system and production of domestic hot water with a Vaillant Arotherm air source heat pump and control of zones with Airzone for a newly built villa in Benijófar. For this project, the client has opted for the energy provided by the Vaillant second generation air-to-water heat pump, a system capable of producing energy with maximum efficiency. This heat pump is capable of providing up to 4.6 times the calorific power it consumes per kilowatt of electricity, both for heating and domestic hot water. The building law in Spain is increasingly betting on the installation of these systems. They are capable of improving the efficiency of solar thermal panels and thanks to the joint use of photovoltaic solar energy they are able to create self-sufficiency or sustainable energy consumption systems.
Heat pump: a new horizon in the world of heating
Air source heat pump is not a new concept, but based on the compression technology of air conditioning or refrigerators. In other words, air source heat pumps, by compressing a fluid (refrigerant), obtain energy through its expansion and compression, "stealing" the heat from the environment. Production machines are called heat pumps, a term widely used for heating swimming pools. The novelty of this technology is given by the improvement in the efficiency of the machines, which over the years has made its use more viable in heating water for central heating and domestic hot water. The cost of this system is higher than that of a conventional boiler, but its efficiency means that the investment is recovered even on the first five years of the installation's life.
